Gameday: Concludes Conclude Three-Game Home Swing Versus Tennessee Tech

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball team faces one of its toughest home tests of the year when Tennessee Tech visits McBrayer Arena Thursday night. Tip time is set for 7 p.m.

Eastern (12-9, 5-3 OVC) currently sits in third place in the OVC standings, but is just one game ahead of the seventh place team. The Colonels have not lost at home in 2011-12 and posted their second highest shooting percentage of the year this past Sunday against Longwood (57.9 percent). Senior Jaron Jones continued his stellar play by making 11-of-14 field goals (78.6 percent) on the way to 23 points. EKU is 6-1 when Jones reaches the 20-point plateau.

Tennessee Tech (12-8, 4-3) is coming off a convincing 77-62 victory over Southeast Missouri on Jan. 21. The Golden Eagles feature the No. 3 scoring duo in NCAA Division I with guards Kevin Murphy (19.4 ppg) and Jud Dillard (18.3). TTU players lead the OVC in scoring (Murphy, 19.4), rebounding (Dillard, 8.7 rpg), assists (Zac Swansey, 5.7 apg) and steals (Swansey, 2.6 spg).

The Colonels are 68-54 all-time against Tennessee Tech and 8-5 versus the Golden Eagles under head coach Jeff Neubauer. The Golden Eagles swept the season series last year for the first time since 2002-03.
