2009 Scouting Report – Has shown improvement throughout his collegiate career and will bring his leadership and experience to the 2009 defensive line … his speed, stamina and toughness make him a difficult match-up on the edge of the line of scrimmage.
At EKU – 2008: Played in every game while starting the final eight contests at defensive end … led the team and ranked fourth in the OVC in sacks (6.0) and fifth in tackles for loss (13.0) … posted 3.5 tackles for loss at UT Martin on Nov. 22 … tallied two sacks in the season opener at Cincinnati on Aug. 28 … recorded five stops and three quarterback hurries in the win over Austin Peay on Sept. 27 … twice totaled a season-high seven tackles. 2007: Played in all 12 games with a start against Western Carolina on Sept. 8 … tallied seven tackles, a sack and a blocked PAT in the opener at Kentucky … posted a career-best nine tackles in the win at Jacksonville State on Sept. 22 … recorded a sack and forced fumble at Murray State on Oct. 27 … also added a sack in the playoff game at Richmond. 2006: Saw action in the season opener against Cincinnati and versus Murray State on Nov. 4 … did not record a tackle. 2005: Took a redshirt season.
High School – A three-year varsity starter at linebacker who twice earned all-conference honors … named 2004 All-Western North Carolina … also competed in track and field, placing second in the long jump at the 2002 state finals, and fourth in the USATF Junior Olympic Regional Championships … in track, he received the 2002 Coach’s Award and was named team MVP in 2003 and 2004 … joined the Educational Honor Society in 2003 and was given the Outstanding Student-Athlete Award in 2004.
