Sean Hamilton

Sean Hamilton

As Executive Director of Athletics Development, Sean Hamilton leads all fundraising efforts for Eastern Kentucky University Athletics, overseeing strategies that generate vital support for EKU’s student-athletes, coaches, and programs. In this role, he partners with donors, alumni, and community members to invest in the future of Colonel athletics and enhance the overall fan and student-athlete experience.

Hamilton grew up around Eastern Kentucky Athletics, including in the radio booth with his father, Webber, who was an announcer on football and basketball broadcasts.  He has been connected to the Colonels for as long as he can remember. He officially joined EKU Athletics in 2015 as the General Manager of EKU Sports Properties with Learfield, leading corporate partnerships and helping grow the department’s external presence.

In 2021, Hamilton transitioned to an EKU employee and built the department’s internal sponsorship team, creating new structures and strategies to support EKU Athletics. He moved into his current fundraising role in August 2024, where he focuses on generating resources to enhance the experience of EKU student-athletes and fans.

A proud Eastern Kentucky University graduate, Hamilton is deeply invested in the campus and community. He is a proud father who can often be found in the stands at his children’s volleyball games, band concerts, cheer competitions, track meets, and a wide variety of other events supporting his children.

Hamilton is also active in the Madison County community. He serves as Finance Director for Madison Hills Christian Church and sits on the board of directors for Better with Books, the Madison County affiliate of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, supporting his significant other, Whitney, the organization’s founder. In the past, he has served on the boards of the Telford YMCA and Hope’s Wings Domestic Violence Shelter and volunteered with the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team.
