He has played in 179 games for the Astros, Atlanta Braves, Detroit Tigers and most recently, the Kansas City Royals, compiling a .272 career batting average. He played in 118 games this past season, splitting time between the Royals and the Tigers and hit .240 and had a team-high 25 stolen bases which ranked him 15th in the American League in steals. In 2008 before his call up to the majors by the Braves, he had a 27-game hitting streak at AAA Richmond, the longest streak in Richmond Braves’ history. Anderson was Eastern’s first ever, first-team Louisville Slugger All-American after leading the nation with 57 stolen bases and batting .447, third best in the country as a junior. A first team All-Ohio Valley Conference selection as a sophomore and a junior, Anderson was a second-team all-conference choice as a freshman. He holds five EKU records, including single-season marks for runs (80), hits (106), singles (74) and stolen bases (57), and a career record for stolen bases (119). He and his wife, Heather, have one son, Easton, and reside in Eubank, Ky., in the offseason.
