BROADCASTERS
Wes Chandler
The 2026-27 calendar year marks the 15th season for Chandler with the EKU Sports Network. This is his 12th year in a regular on-air role with EKU. Chandler hand
les play-by-play duties for women's basketball, baseball, softball, soccer and volleyball contests on ESPN+ and audio broadcasts. He serves as the field reporter for football broadcasts.
Chandler also hosts the popular monthly "Kickin' it with the Colonels" podcast, the official podcast of EKU Sports. In this series he hosts student-athletes in an engaging way to get to know their lives on and off the field of play. He also conducts numerous interviews and other special features for EKU social media outlets.
In 2026, Chandler began his tenure as the voice of the Lexington Legends minor league baseball team. Members of the South Atlantic league, Chandler handles play-by-play duties for all 41 home streaming broadcasts during the summer.
Prior to joining the EKU Sports Network, Chandler spent three seasons broadcasting for the University of the Cumberlands. In addition to his role in broadcasting, Chandler oversaw the day-to-day operation of the campus television station, UCTV.
Chandler graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 2012.Â
Jim Tirey
In his 12th season with EKU Sports Network, serving as a color analyst for Eastern Kentucky University football broadcasts. A veteran broadcaster with more than 30 years of experience in radio and television, Tirey has become a familiar and trusted voice for Colonel fans across the Commonwealth.
Known for his insightful analysis, preparation, and passion for EKU Athletics, Tirey has been part of numerous memorable moments in Colonel football history, working alongside longtime "Voice of the Colonels" Greg Stotelmyer and sideline reporter Wes Chandler on broadcasts heard throughout Central Kentucky and streamed worldwide on the EKU Sports Network.
In addition to his work with EKU Athletics, Tirey has built a respected career across Kentucky media, earning a reputation for professionalism, storytelling, and a deep understanding of collegiate athletics. His extensive experience in both radio and television continues to bring credibility and energy to EKU broadcasts each season.

Doug Sallee
Former Head Coach and Athletic Director for more than three decades, Doug Sallee is in his 7th season with the EKU Sports Network. Sallee serves as the analyst for men's basketball broadcasts.
A long-time fixture in central Kentucky athletics, Sallee is a veteran Kentucky educator, coach, and athletic administrator whose career has spanned several decades in high school athletics.
He has been respected leader in the Commonwealth, Sallee served as a teacher, basketball coach, and athletic director, making a lasting impact on student-athletes at both Clark County High School and Madison Southern High School.
Kent Miller
Beginning his second year with the Network, Kent Miller, spent four decades working with young people in multiple sports at the scholastic and collegiate level. Included in this time he was an assistant coach for the EKU women's basketball program for 13 years. He serves as an analyst on EKU women's basketball, women's soccer, volleyball, baseball and softball ESPN+ broadcasts.Â
His long, illustrious coaching career spans more than four decades, including 14 years as an assistant women's basketball coach at EKU across two separate stints. He also served as an assistant men's basketball coach at Georgetown College. He was a head girls basketball coach at the high school level for several programs, including Madison Central, Madison Southern, Lexington Christian Academy and Model.
A two-time graduate of EKU, Miller's long tenure at EKU, combined with his extensive high school and college coaching background, has made him a respected figure in the university's athletic program.
Maggie Davis
Davis joined the EKU Sports Network in 2025-26 in a variety of capacities. She provided play-by-play, color analysis and sideline reporting for football, volleyball and men's and women's basketball broadcasts.
A Lexington native and University of Kentucky graduate she joined WLEX-TV in 2020 as an associate producer and multi-media journalist for the nightly UK sports show, BBN Tonight and the weekend show, BBN Gameday. She currently co-hosts BBN Tonight for WLEX and the University of Kentucky. Previously, Maggie worked with WLEX-TV as a production intern and sports reporter for the show Hey Kentucky!Â
She's also a former staff writer, digital host, and Sunday editor for the largest independently-owned college sports blog in America, Kentucky Sports Radio. With KSR, she covered the Wildcats for over four years. She also interned with ESPN in Los Angeles, where she worked on SportsCenter and The Jump.

Adkins joined Eastern Kentucky University Athletics in June 2023. A 2022 EKU graduate, Adkins earned her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting and Electronic Media and later completed her Master of Science in Exercise and Sport Science with a concentration in Sport Administration in Fall 2025.
While a student, she worked with Communications and Brand Management and the Athletics Video Production (ESPN+) crew, serving as head scholarship student her senior year.
After graduation, Adkins worked as Director of Promotions for Cumulus Media and as a freelance broadcast specialist across Kentucky before returning to EKU in a full-time role.
Adkins loves her job as an ESPN+ producer. She enjoys working with her crew to capture special moments as well as seeing her students progress throughout their college careers.
She currently lives in Richmond with her fiancé and three dogs. They love spending as much time on the water as possible, whether that be boating on Lake Cumberland or relaxing in the pool.

BROADCASTER EMERITUS

Greg Stotelmyer
For 47 years, one man's voice represented EKU Athletics - Greg Stotelmyer. The Voice of the Colonels began calling EKU football and basketball games in the 1979-1980 sports season. This will be Greg Stotelmyer's 48th season covering the Colonels, a job that has included play-by-play on 500 EKU football games and more than 1,300 men's basketball games. He prefers to describe his work as a "passionate hobby," not a job.Â

His Colonel broadcast career included 44 years on the radio/audio network and four seasons in the mid-1980s broadcasting television replays of EKU home games. He also produced and hosted weekly television shows for several football and basketball coaches, beginning with legendary football coach Roy Kidd. He's also the lead announcer for ESPN+ broadcasts of Colonel football and men's basketball, plus softball, soccer, volleyball and baseball in the past.

Stotelmyer has been chosen the Kentucky Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sports Media Association two of the last three years. In 2024 Greg was inducted into the EKU Athletics Hall of Fame. He was inducted into the Kentucky Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2023.
From 1979 through 1986 Stotelmyer worked at WEKY-AM as the station's News and Sports Director. For the next 25 years, he was a multi-faceted reporter at WTVQ TV, the ABC
affiliate in Lexington. He covered the regional beat, agriculture, and then politics. But, he was best known for his well-liked weekly feature, "Kentucky's Backroads."

Stotelmyer has seven Emmy awards from The Ohio Valley Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in addition to various other honors including an Edward R. Murrow award.Â
Greg still lives in Richmond, with his Paula. Retiring allows them to travel the world, where they have been to all 50 states and more than 60 countries. However, Greg says his biggest thrill is playing with their "Starting 5," their five grandkids.
