Women's Basketball Signs Sarah Fraser-Jones For 2008-09

RICHMOND, Ky. – Sarah Fraser-Jones has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Eastern Kentucky University, head coach Larry Joe Inman announced today. Fraser-Jones is a 5-foot-9 guard/forward from Melbourne, Australia. She’s currently a sophomore at Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Mo.

Last season Fraser-Jones averaged 8.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game while earning first team all-conference and second team all-region recognition. She shot 53.1 percent from the field and 71.4 percent from three-point range.

“Sarah is a tremendous early signing for us,” Inman said. “She’s very smart and a great student. On the court she’s a great scorer but she’s also very good at getting others involved. She’ll be a great fit to the chemistry of our team.”

Through five games this season, Fraser-Jones is averaging 10.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game while connecting on 53.1 percent of her shots from the field. In the Cardinals’ season-opening 71-66 victory over John A. Logan College, Fraser-Jones scored 18 points, grabbed 11 boards and dished out six assists.

Eastern Kentucky is off to a 1-0 start to the 2007-08 season after a 90-59 win over West Virginia Tech.
