RICHMOND, Ky. – More than 500 fans descended upon Roy Kidd Stadium Saturday evening for the fifth annual Colonel Football Fan Day, just five days before Eastern Kentucky University opens the 2008 football season at Big East opponent Cincinnati.

Colonel supporters of all ages walked the home sidelines on Hanger Field to receive autographs from this year’s team. Attractive team posters and schedule cards were given to everyone who attended.

Eastern Kentucky will be in search of its 31st consecutive winning season and 20th Ohio Valley Conference title in 2008. Last year, the Colonels advanced to the NCAA Division I FCS playoffs for a record 18th time and went undefeated against OVC competition. The Colonels kick off the fall season at Cincinnati on Thursday, Aug. 28. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m.
