Neil Sellers
TRENTON, N.J. – Former Eastern Kentucky University baseball player Neil Sellers will play in the Double-A Eastern League All-Star Game tonight. The versatile infielder is batting .314 for the Reading Phillies with nine home runs and 49 RBI.

Sellers is one of five Reading Phillies represented on the Southern Division roster. He is listed on the roster as a third baseman, first baseman and second baseman, and he may even see time in the outfield.

The Henderson, Ky. native has been a consistent run producer for Reading this season as he is currently second on the Phillies in hits (101), doubles (20), home runs (nine) and RBI (49).

Sellers was drafted in 2004 by the Astros and picked up by the Philadelphia Phillies in the Rule Five Draft in 2008.

During his four-year tenure at EKU, Sellers became the school’s all-time leader in four categories, including RBIs (214), hits (279), doubles (62) and at-bats (793). He was a two-time co-captain for the Colonels and was a second team All-Ohio Valley Conference selection in 2004. Sellers batted .351 his senior season and led the team with 63 RBIs, 58 runs scored, 26 walks and 126 total bases. He also finished with 18 doubles, 12 home runs and was one of only two players to start all 51 games for the Colonels in 2004. Sellers played in 206 games and made 160 consecutive starts during his career.
