RICHMOND, Ky. – Ashley Edmond and Marissa Tashenberg have signed National Letters of Intent (NLI) to play volleyball at Eastern Kentucky University, head coach
Lori Duncan recently announced. Edmond is a 6-foot outside hitter from Michigan City, Ind. Tashenberg is a 6-foot outside hitter from Maumee, Ohio.
Edmond was a four-year letter winner, and three-time team captain and team MVP at Marquette Catholic High School. She led the Blazers to four Class A state championships and was selected as the state championship game MVP as a sophomore, junior and senior. Edmond earned all-state honors four times and was conference MVP three times. She was a three-time all-area and player of the year selection by the Michigan City News Dispatch and the LaPorte Herald-Argus.
During her prep career, Edmond led Marquette Catholic to a 132-26 record. She set school records for career kills (1,925), single season kills (553), and kills in a match (33). She also totaled over 1,400 career digs.
Tashenberg earned all-district honorable mention and All-Toledo City League second team honors as a senior at St. Ursula Academy in Toledo. She also earned a spot on the Toledo City League All-Academic team. She led her team to the city championship and district title.
Tashenberg was selected to the Ohio Valley High Performance team which competed by invitation in Florida against high performance teams from other states.
