RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University football team spent most of Wednesday night’s practice in situational drills. Below are some highlights of practice #12.
--Starting quarterback #T.J. Pryor
accounted for three touchdowns. He tossed a 15-yard scoring pass to running back Kyle Lumpkin# on one occasion. In a goal line drill, Pryor hustled around the left side of the line for a one-yard bootleg touchdown run. Later, in a three-minute situation, Pryor hooked up with wide receiver
Shannon Davis for a long pass down the left sideline which led to another touchdown pass, this time to wide receiver
Evan Cromer.
--In his first series, back-up quarterback
Brendon Gregory guided the second team offense on a touchdown drive against the second team defense. Gregory finished the drive with a 10-yard touchdown pass to tight end
Jonathan Sharp.
--Running back #H.B. Banjoman# burst up the middle of the field for a 35-yard touchdown run.
--The defense had some highlights as well. Defensive lineman
Emory Attig came up with a big sack on one 3rd-and-5 situation. Fellow defensive lineman
Robert Knowles sacked Gregory in a goal line drill.
The Colonels will be looking to win their third OVC title in the last four years when they kick off the season Thursday, Sept. 2 at Missouri State.

NOTES: Saturday’s scrimmage time has been moved from 7 p.m., to 8:15 a.m. … classes begin Monday which means the Colonels will move into their normal game week schedule for practice – Monday night (7:45 p.m.), Tuesday afternoon (3:45 p.m.), Wednesday afternoon (3:45 p.m.) and Thursday afternoon (3:35 p.m.).
