RICHMOND, Ky. – Madison Central High School’s Kyle Congleton recently signed to play men’s golf at Eastern Kentucky University, head coach
Pat Stephens announced on Monday. The Richmond resident will begin his collegiate career in the fall of 2012.
“The EKU golf team is very excited to have Kyle join our program,” Stephens said. “Kyle comes to Eastern Kentucky with a very impressive junior and high school resume. Kyle is a very athletic and talented golfer who we anticipate to have a great collegiate golf career at EKU.”
Congleton was coached by Stephens’ brother, Tim Stephens, at MCHS. In addition, Congleton’s grandfather, Edwin Luxon, is an EKU golf alumni.
Eastern has concluded the fall portion of its 2011-12 schedule. The Colonels will be back in action on March 5 at the two-day Samford Invitational in Hoover, Ala.
