Round 1 Results

CITRUS SPRINGS, Fla. – Eastern Kentucky University’s women’s golf team holds a three-shot lead after the first round of the EKU El Diablo Intercollegiate on Thursday in Citrus Springs, Fla.

The Colonels shot an opening round 310. Austin Peay (313) is second and Florida Atlantic (315) is third.

Harin Lee of St. John’s and Kristen Wilkinson of Western Kentucky are the individual leaders after shooting a 1-over 73. Chelsea Harris (74) of Austin Peay is one shot behind. Marilyne Cadieux of Florida Atlantic and Eastern Kentucky’s Linda Hogberg are tied for fourth after shooting 75 in the first round.

The event is being contested at the par 72, 5,902-yard El Diablo Golf & Country Club.

The participating teams include Austin Peay, Barry, Eastern Kentucky, Florida Atlantic, Mount St. Mary’s, St. John’s, and Western Kentucky.

EKU’s Lisanne Schmidt shot a 79 and is sixth. April Emerson and Katie Wiedmar are tied for eighth with a pair of 79s. Kara Fant (83) is tied for 24th in the 43-player field.

The second round will begin on Friday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
