RICHMOND, Ky. – Almost 300 people descended upon Roy Kidd Stadium on a pleasant Saturday evening for the annual Meet the Colonels night, just one week before Eastern Kentucky University opens the 2011 football season at Kansas State.

Colonel supporters of all ages walked the sidelines to receive autographs from this year’s team. Attractive team posters, schedule cards and magnets were given to everyone who attended. Chick-Fil-A, a proud sponsor of the event, had plenty of promotional giveaways including its spicy chicken sandwich, famous sweet tea and ice cream.

Earlier in the day, the Colonels held their final preseason scrimmage. All of the plays were scripted to get the team prepared for just about every type of situation that could arise next week in the opening game.
