RICHMOND, Ky. – Former Eastern Kentucky University football players Aaron Adams and Tyrone Goard have signed NFL free agent deals. Adams signed with the Cleveland Browns while Goard inked a deal with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Both Adams and Goard were seniors for the EKU football team this past fall.

Adams, a native of Lake Worth, Fla., was a first team All-OVC performer in both 2011 and 2012. The offensive lineman helped the Colonels rank second in the OVC and 20th nationally in rushing yards per game this season (205.8 ypg). Adams started every game on the EKU offensive line spanning the last two seasons. As a junior, he played the entire year at right tackle. Adams switched from right to left tackle in the middle of the 2012 campaign due to an injury to Patrick Ford.

Goard, hailing from Charleston, W.Va., was one of the top wide receivers in the Ohio Valley Conference spanning the last two years. He posted four 100-yard receiving games as a senior in 2012 including a 175-yard game against UT Martin on Sept. 29. In that game, Goard finished with four receiving touchdowns which tied a program single game record. He concluded his Eastern career ranked among the school’s top 10 in receiving yards (1,842) and touchdown catches (24).

There are three other former Eastern Kentucky football players currently listed on NFL rosters – defensive back Yeremiah Bell (Arizona Cardinals), offensive lineman Derek Hardman (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and defensive back Antwaun Molden (Jacksonville Jaguars).

EKU kicks off the 2013 schedule with a Thursday night home opener against Robert Morris on Aug. 29.
