LOUISVILLE, Ky. –
Eastern Kentucky University's baseball team will take on second ranked University of Louisville on Tuesday at Jim Patterson Stadium in Louisville.  The game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

EKU (1-2) opened the 2016 season by winning one game in a three-game series with Lipscomb.  The Bison posed a tough early challenge for Eastern Kentucky.  Lipscomb was 39-20 last season and advanced to the NCAA regional.  In the series-opener, Eastern chased starter Cody Glenn after three and two-thirds innings, and went on to win 13-7.  The Colonels scored four runs off Glenn, a transfer from LSU and a former weekend starter in the Southeastern Conference.

UofL (3-0) began the season with a three-game sweep of Ohio Valley Conference member Southern Illinois Edwardsville.  The Cardinals out-scored the Cougars 43-5 in the series.

Luke McGee will make his first start of the season for Eastern Kentucky.  The senior left-hander pitched two innings of relief in the Lipscomb series, giving up one run on two hits.  Kade McClure, a sophomore right-hander, will also be making his first start of the season for Louisville.  He pitched one scoreless inning of relief and struck out three against SIU Edwardsville.

Mandy Alvarez led the Colonel offense with a .462 batting average against Lipscomb.  In EKU's victory in the series-opener, the senior third baseman went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs.
