NASHVILLE, Tenn. – EKU sophomore Laura Argente Escamilla and freshman Corentine Bodin were named All-Ohio Valley Conference performers, the league announced Thursday night from the awards banquet.
 
Argente rolled to an 8-2 record in conference singles play to lead the Colonels, helping her to a first team selection. After transferring from the University of South Florida, Argente went 18-5 in her first season as a Colonel. She picked up two OVC Tennis Female Athlete of the Week selections throughout the season. She went 4-3 in doubles play to help the Colonels clinch their 11th consecutive OVC Tournament berth.
 
Meanwhile, Bodin a native of La Rochette, France went 7-3 in singles play against OVC foes. Bodin's 5-2 record in doubles action helped the Colonels to pivotal points throughout the regular season. Bodin was named to the All-OVC Second Team.
 
EKU has earned a trip to the event in each of the 11 seasons since the current format began in 2006.
 
Argente and Bodin's selections give the Colonels 40 all-conference performers in program history and EKU has had at least one selection the past 12 years.
 
The Colonels (13-10, 8-2) clinched the No. 3 seed in the 2016 OVC Tournament. EKU will play No. 6 seed Murray State in Friday's opening round. Friday's match is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET at Nashville's Centennial Sportsplex.
 
 EKU defeated Murray State, 7-0, in their meeting at Greg Adams Tennis Center on March 19.
