LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A large group enthusiastically welcomed the Colonel Caravan stop in Louisville on Tuesday. Several EKUSports head coaches and athletics administrators met with a group of alumni, supporters and Colonel Club members during the Colonel Caravan stop at Napa River Grill.
The group included director of athletics
Stephen Lochmueller and head coaches
Jane Worthington (softball),
Edwin Thompson (baseball),
Nick Flohre (soccer),
Dan McHale (men's basketball) and
Rick Erdmann (cross country/track & field).
David Tandy, a member of the Eastern Kentucky University Board of Regents, also addressed the group.
In addition to its stop in Louisville today, the Colonel Caravan has also visited northern Kentucky, Ashland and Pikeville. Future stops include Lexington and Somerset.
"This was an outstanding turnout for today's Colonel Caravan. We absolutely could not have asked for a more enthusiastic and passionate crowd," EKU Deputy Director of Athletics
Matt Roan said. "There was a lot of long-time Colonel fans in the room today and this group is going to help grow EKUSports and help us spread our brand in Louisville."
